I Love My Small, Gay Son

Although Baby Pud loves the ladies (and has ever since he figured out that two different genders walk the earth and some of the other gender have long blonde hair), he also adores engaging in activities that garner eligibility in the Fab Five.

He is a decorating fool. He is forever rehanging anything on the walls he can reach (for better Feng Shui?) and creating little vignettes around the house by stacking and artfully draping whater tchotkes he can get his hands on. IrishBansheeMother proposes that he will be the world's first interior designer/football player.

His love for chocolate beats out that of any PMS queen. He eats chocolate and he goes in to his own world. Heroin could never compete.

He has a new obsession with fabric. This goes with the decorating thing I suppose, but he is fascinated with the sewing machine. I've already made him two spiderman throw pillows and am working on making him a matching throw blanket. He has grand plans to redo the whole house...and HE is going to pick out the fabric. Currently a toss-up between Spider-Man and blue sequins.

Today, however, he topped all. I was painting my toenails a coppery color, and he asked me to do his fingernails. Now this on its own is not what tops all. He has had his fingernails and toenails painted many times before, been made over by Mowweee and CoffeeBean many times before, and is even known for wearing his sister's clothes around the house on occasion (and props to Mowweee's school for not blinking an eye when he came in to pick her up wearing her hot pink butterfly jacket).

What topped all today was AFTER I painted his fingernails. He decided he wanted the color right back OFF. Not because it was girly or sloppily applied. But because he thought it didn't properly match his Batman shirt.

Carson Kressley and Austin Scarlett? Step aside. There's a new sheriff in town.

I love that! He wanted it off because it didn't match his shirt - hee!
Hopefully he'll grow out of spidey and blue sequins before he redoes your entire house. :)

he'll probably grow up to be quite heterosexual, with a defiant attitude towards anyone who wants him to conform, kinda like you and I...

TheNed has quite a "feminine" bent too (in fact, I tell him he is the world's first straight bitchy old queen)...and probably would have been just Baby Pud is now had he grown up in a household that allowed freedom of expression. And to his credit, he doesn't even blink at his son's antics.

My neighbor kid eats chocolate and goes into what we refer to as 'The Zone'. I hope if I ever have kids, they are kids with character. You know, weird kids.

you know as a wee lad, the precocious -b once donned a tie, swathed his head in a flowing scarf and clopped around the house in stilettos very much in a diva fashion. this was much to the chagrin of his father, and probably a retalitory strike by the young -b for having his pleas to join the cub scouts spurned by his father.

That's not it, I already promised him he could join football when he's five. Or flower arranging classes. Whatever he prefers.
